How to Apply: Internal Medicine Residency

Only applications submitted through the prior to December 31 of the current calendar year will be considered.  Please keep in mind, ERAS opens September 6; interview season begins in October and ends in January.  Interview slots fill-up quickly, therefore, it is to your benefit to submit complete applications early.

You must have successfully completed the United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE) Steps I and II. It is preferred that each exam be taken and passed on the first attempt.  Although we may offer you an interview if your Step 2 scores are not available, you will not be ranked if those scores are not available by the rank submission deadline.

You must have a letter from the dean of the medical school where you matriculated.

Three letters of reference are required and only accepted via ERAS.

If you are a Non-Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME) graduate, you must be Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) certified.

Each resident in our program must be a United States citizen, a lawful permanent resident, a refugee, an asylee, or must possess the appropriate documentation to allow the resident to legally train at ߣÍÃÊÓƵ.

We accept J-1 Visas only.

Please Note:
If you are not from an LCME accredited institution and have been out of medical school for more than 2 years, it is preferred that you have at least 6 months hands-on U.S. clinical experience.  Research experiences are not considered. ߣÍÃÊÓƵ School of Medicine does not offer observership and externship experiences.
